Year 9 Peer Mentors
On Thursday 19th June, 20 Year 9 pupils attended Peer Mentor Training. The training focused on building relationships, listening skills, empathy or judgement and possible issues young people may bring to their sessions with a Peer Mentor. The training session ended with our new Peer Mentors putting their new skills into action with role play.
Their first ‘job’ in their new role as Peer Mentors will be to support with the three day Year 6 Transition event on Wednesday 25th to Friday 27th June 2025. The Peer Mentors will continue to support Year 6 pupils when they transition to secondary school in September 2025. Pupils will have a familiar face around school, who they can ask questions and seek support from.
