Additional Learning Needs Support

At Ysgol Y Grango we aim to foster an inclusive environment where all students can grow and thrive.

Partnership working with parents/carers and external agencies is pivotal to ensure all students can achieve their full potential. Furthermore, we acknowledge that learners are individuals, and some may have barriers to learning which include additional needs that require the school to implement specific actions.

The Additional Learning Needs Reforms in Wales

The Additional Learning Needs Reforms in Wales were implemented September 2021.  At the heart of the reforms is a Person-Centred Practice. The video explains the reforms and a fact sheet is available for further information.

Resource Provision

Resource Provision is for students with a Moderate Learning Difficulty.  It supports those students who struggle to acquire literacy and numeracy skills and understand key concepts.

At Ysgol Y Grango’s Resource Provision the ALN faculty build our students’ skills through differentiated and person-centred approaches.  Alongside this, interventions are implemented to address specific areas of need.  Personalised Individual Development Plans use targets and outcomes to encourage and provide the required support.
