Uniform Guide

We believe that school uniform is an important aspect of our school’s high standards and ethos.

All students are expected to wear full school uniform correctly, at all times, without exception and no excuses. Your support in this matter is crucial and greatly appreciated.

Uniform Policy

Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct uniform: school blazer, white shirt, tie, black tailored trousers, or a plain black knee length skirt, bought as worn and not rolled up. Footwear should be plain black with no logo or colour. A navy-blue V-neck jumper is optional.

We advise you click into the links below to read the policy and guidance to support purchasing the correct items:

Non-Permitted Items

The following items of clothing are not school uniform and should not, therefore, be worn for school:

  • Leggings
  • Joggers
  • Shorts
  • Mini-skirts
  • Jeans
  • Jeggings
  • Hoodies
  • Denim
  • Leather jackets.

There should be no excessive jewellery, extreme hairstyles, or facial piercings.

Purchasing Uniform

The school has entered into partnership with RAM Leisure, Whitegate Industrial Estate, Wrexham, LL13 8UG (01978) 360360, www.ramleisure.com. They are the only supplier of school uniform and logo items. The company is uniquely placed to be able to offer the purchase of good value, quality uniform and other essentials.

Parents are able to visit the shop during opening hours. You can also buy uniforms online using the link below.

Grants

The Welsh Government operates a grant for families on lower incomes and who qualify for certain benefits to apply for. The School Essential Grant came into effect from September 2018

  • £125 per learner
  • £200 for learners entering Year 7 (to help with increased costs associated with starting secondary school)

All compulsory school years from reception to Year 11 are now eligible. Please visit the Welsh Government website for further information. There is also more information on the Uniform Grant section of the Rising Seven Transition Page or visit the WCBC website.

New to You Scheme

Furthermore, we operate a “New To You” scheme to recycle uniform items. If your child no longer requires an item of uniform which is in good condition, then we would really appreciate it if those items were to be donated to the school. This might include blazers, shirts, skirts, trousers, and PE kit. These items can then be offered to other families for temporary or long-term use, helping to reduce waste and keep costs down.

If you have any concerns regarding uniform, please contact your child’s Head of Year for clarification.
