GCSE Personal & Social Education

The Personal and Social Education Framework for 7-19 year olds in Wales encompasses a range of important themes from an individual, community and global perspective.

The assessment for this course is as follows:

Unit 1. Written paper (40%)

1 hour 30 mins
90 marks

Section A - Active Citizenship (30 marks)
Section B - Health and Emotional Well Being (30 marks)
Section C - Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (30 marks)

The written paper will comprise of short, structured and longer response questions.

Unit 2. Controlled Assessment (60%)

Internally Assessed
80 marks

Board prescribed study - students select one of three tasks set by the board. Task are carried out under exam conditions in class.
